It Is Sexy, Not Just Hot

Sexy criteria that mentions physical things as the main characteristic is supposed to be dumped into the recycle bin. They are supposed to use term HOT, not SEXY.

That is why I never agree that the hot pants are sexy. Red lips are not sexy. Big boops are not sexy. And L-Men boys are definitely not sexy!

Who are the sexiest people alive? Nobody can make the definite criteria, not even the editor of Playboy. Pamela is probably sexy, she is pretty, her campaign against fur for fashion is really a smart thing to do, but her hobby to make her private intercourse with Tommy Lee and sells it to public is not acceptable. Maybe Tom Cruise is sexy too, not just about his adorable chin and his perfect performances in Mission Impossibles, but I cannot understand why he left Nicole after his long-time-marriage-with-two-kids only for hooking up with a dump Hispanic girl named Penelope, right when Nicole is pregnant for his baby.

I still hold the principle that someone could be sexy if he knows how to take care of his good performance, supported by his intelligentia with the smart ways in everything he does, and also with good attitudes, do not hurt anybody else or even himself.

It is all just about beauty, brain, and behavior.

Not A Zooster, Not Yet A Doctor

Zooster, the infuse is lack..Zooster, my Mom vomited..

We are not nurses, those families have been already told many times. But they still do not understand.

I aware how the profession of interns are not known well for public. People only know two kinds of job in the hospital, a doctor, or a nurse. They do not know an intern.

Sometimes I am misthought as a nurse. Patients only knew that there was just only one doctor who examines them, that is my resident. The others are nurses, they thought. So they would call an intern as a nurse, too. They do not know that an intern is gonna be a doctor, not a nurse.

I used to get annoyed with the situation. It does not mean I hate nursery profession, however doctors cannot survive without the nurses, but it cannot mean that an intern can be thought as a nurse. I spent a lot of suffering years at medical school to be a doctor, not a nurse, that is the strong reason. And doctors do not pay responsible for lack infuses or vomiting of a patient, the nurses do. That is why the interns are not supposed to do the tasks of the nurses.

Next time, another patient called me: Zooster, the infuse is lack. Would you mind to refill the new one?

I chose to smile and say: I’m sorry, Sir. I’m not a nurse. The Zoosters are in their room.

It sounds snob, but then the patients and the families will understand. They will stop calling an intern as a nurse, and they will learn to appreciate the present of an intern, same like they make respect to a doctor who treat them.

He Gets Married and I Get Pissed Off

I was told that he was gonna get married this week. I was asked to bring the presents to the family of his fiance. All I want is just kicking his ass.

The pre-wedding ceremony is gonna be hailed at the afternoon, a day before the wedding day. So I must be there to bring the presents. I get pissed off, because it means that I have to leave my work. What about my patients at the hospital?

Poor your uncle, Vicky, said my Grandma. Why do not you just leave your day only for your family?

Me: I have my responsibility at my work!

Grams: Then who is gonna bring the presents?

Me: Why should we bring the presents?!

My uncle should have thought from the beginning that he cannot just get married that easily. Wedding is not just come to the house of your bride in the morning, say the vow, put the rings, and that is it. Wedding is also standing up the yellow janur, preparing the presents, and inviting the whole family from outta town. And inviting the family means providing the house, being the host, picking them up from the airport or the station. So busy!

Does not mean that I am not happy for the wedding of my uncle, certainly I am happy coz finally he finds another happiness after his unhappy divorce. I just cannot accept that he cannot bring his own presents for the family of his bride. I cannot just skip my work like I used to skip my school for a little party. I am working now.

I tell my Grandma, bring the presents alone. If you cannot bring them alone, then just do not do it.

Coz the meaning of the wedding is not the presents, but the love that you vow, that will bring you to make a wealthy and happy family. Is not it all about?

Why Don’t You Just Lie?

Honesty is hurting, even it is killing. I cannot believe it either, but that is the truth.

They say, do not make a cheat on your exam, just be honest. Ray, 22, was honest while she was making presentation of her patient for her final test. She had to gain the data of her marasmic infant, about the details of the disease, the health history of the patient, and so on. But the Papa of the baby did not know anything about the child, because he had left the child about a couple of months for work, and he had just been already stucked with his child after he was told that his baby had tuberculosis. So Ray could not investigate the history of the patient, and she could not diagnose the patient as marasmus. Dr Oet, our teacher who did the test, was furious and told Ray that she failed. She had to repeat the exam, but before, she must have gained the history.

Ray was shocked and she was afraid to tell Dr Oet that she could not gain the history because the only godmother of the patient, who had treated the patient ever since the newborn, lived out of town, at Cianjur. So Ray left to Cianjur and looked for the aunt of her patient. Ray was lucky because in the end, she could find her and get the full history.

It was so overreacted. Why did Dr Oet dare to command Ray to make investigation that really hard? What if the godmother lived in Balikpapan, should Ray fly to Balikpapan, too?

The next exam for Ray was not easy. Dr Oet was still not satisfied, he refused every therapy that Ray adviced. Seemed like every things that Ray wrote were all incorrect, and Ray looked so stupid. Finally he told her to repeat the exam three days then. Meanwhile, Ray had to be in other department that day.

Ray made her third exam, the last one. Dr Oet still could not be satisfied, and he told Ray that it ended. Ray did not know if she failed or she passed it. Probably she failed, and she had to return for re-examination in the end of the year. Ray should not be that complicated. My colleague, Ried, 23, told me that probably Ray could have passed it if she faked the data of the patient. The reason is, what could you expect from the only accompanier of the patient who did not know anything about the patient?

But I don’t think so. I think, if Ray was not afraid of Dr Oet’s horror face and she was brave to tell our teacher that the data is very difficult to be gained, Dr Oet would not make Ray pursue her patient’s aunt to Cianjur. I know it was hard. Our teacher did not want to believe that sometimes reaching the patient’s health full-history is not easy, so the only way to make our examination easier is just lying, by making the fake data. It was not a good attitude, but the situation made us to.

Ray, why don’t you just lie? Honesty cannot always help. Sometimes it is hurting, even it is killing. Killing our exam.

Little Girl Screams Aloud

Dief, 6 years old, doesn’t get it why this morning her Mom takes her to the pediatric emergency room. She’s not sick anyway. She just doesn’t refuse when I take her to measure her weight and lay her down on the bed. She even pushes her tongue out before I tell her to.

Me: What’s your chief complaint, Ma’am?

Dief’s Mom: None. It’s just that I wonder if she’s got hemorrhagic fever. There’s been a lot of mosquitos at my neighbourhood lately.

I touch Dief’s forehead. It’s not very warm.

Me: Did you find any rashes on her skin?

Dief’s Mom: Not yet, I’m just worried.

Me (to Dief): Are you feeling sick?

Dief (shakes ahead): No.

Me (press her stomach): Does it hurt you when I’m doing this?

Dief (shakes ahead): No.

Me (smiling): I’m gonna examine you for a moment, OK?

I put a spiygmo by her, and I bind the cuff to her arm. I tell Dief that it’s gonna hurt her for a few minutes, and she says it’s OK.

So I press her arm for five minutes. First two minutes she’s still fine, but then she starts to cry coz it hurts. Next second she screams aloud and tells me to stop.

After five minutes I set her arm free. There’s no rash on her skin. She’s still crying, I know she hates me now.

It’s allright, if a little child loves doctor, then she mustn’t be a child.

Me: Ma’am, are you sure that she hasn’t had any fever recently?

Dief’s Mom: No, she hasn’t. I just take her here for screening examination. Can I ask for a blood test too?

I smile to Dief. Dief’s not sick. She’s very healthy, so fine. But her Mom is very afraid that something bad is gonna happen to her, so her Mom takes her to get too many examinations.

Mothers always care about their children, don’t they? But sometimes their action can’t be appropriate to their kids. And the worse thing is, not all children can accept that.
